In addition to NSCA certification and residence requirements, applicants for NSCA’s Certified with Professional Liability Insurance (CPI) membership must meet two additional requirements provided through our approved partner: 1) background check, and 2) anti-abuse training.

Additional information:

• • Automatic disqualifiers for CPI Membership: any sex or felony offense; misdemeanor violence offenses within the past seven (7) years.
  • The required anti-abuse training takes approximately 45 minutes to complete. Applicants may complete the training in more than one session.

Once both requirements are met, applicants will receive a confirmation email with the certificate of insurance and further information about NSCA membership benefits.

This insurance will not cover the insured in a facility building that they personally rent, own or lease, except in the case of remote training where the insured does not meet with or train the client on the rented, owned, or leased premises. The insured must evaluate and assess all clients face to face before offering remote training. It is recommended this face to face assessment be done in person but may be done virtually (Zoom, Skype, Face Time, etc.). Assessments may not take place at a facility or location that is rented, owned, or leased by the insured. CPI Membership does cover online training with clients in the United States, Canada, and U.S. Territories, but not internationally.  Coverage is void when the insured is covered by another insurance plan, including Studio liability insurance.
