The Female Athlete - What I Wish I Knew

  • How to support the growing female athlete, physically and mentally. This will include research about RED-s, SEL, and mental performance skills. Plus anecdotes/evidence from when I struggled with an eating disorder when I was an athlete in high school, which led to alcoholism/addiction in college (I've been in recovery now for 10+ years, and one of the reasons I want to include some of my story is to provide hope)
  • The difference between coaching a girl’s team vs coaching a boy’s team, including how hormones, social patterns, and more affect this
  • How the following pillars impact the developing female athlete and how to help them navigate it: social media, nutrition, stress, sleep, purpose/why, and relationships
    • This will also be helpful for coaches to learn ways to fill their cup and take care of their mental health, too, because as coaches we are often pouring from an empty cup. We need to support ourselves before we can support our athletes
