Tom became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist in 1998 and in 2011 he was honored as a Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach. Tom Caruso holds a Bachelor of Science and Education degree, with a concentration in athletic training, from the University of Arkansas and a Masters of Sports Management from the Wingate University. Tom has been the Wellness Director/Strength Coach for the Providence Day School since 2009. In addition to teaching ninth-grade health, his responsibilities include planning and implementing strength, conditioning and agility programs for all the mens and womens middle and upper school sports teams. Providence Day School currently fields teams for Golf, Football, Soccer, Basketball, Lacrosse, Baseball, Volleyball, Wrestling, Softball, Swimming, Field Hockey and Track and Field. Wachovia Cup Winners 2012-2015,2017 NCISAA State Champions Football 2011 Women's Basketball 2010-2015 Women's Tennis 2010, 2011 Men's Tennis 2010 Men's Golf 2011 Cross Country 2010, 2011 Track 2013-2015. Tom has been an outstanding athlete for his entire life, competing successfully as a diver at the national level beginning in grade school. As a member of the Arkansas Swimming and Diving Team, Tom was a three-time Division One All American and five-time Division One Honorable Mention. Including a runner-up finish in the 1994 NCAA National Championship on the ten-meter platform. In addition, Tom was Illinois State Diving Champion in 1992 and Illinois Swimmer of the Year in 1992, the only time this honor has been earned by a diver.
